About

“You know who you are, but know not who you could be.” -William Shakespeare.

When Lisa Alban Ellisen took her first yoga class in the mountains of Idaho she became acquainted with her true potential.  It was as if she had just awakened in her own skin. After a lifetime of trying to be fit and force her body into a certain shape, it wasn’t until she became disciplined with her yoga practice, which included self acceptance and deep listening, that she finally felt fit. When she taught her first yoga class in 2000, she noticed her bare feet on the floor, heard her voice without criticism, and knew inside that she found her soul’s path. She pursued her certification in Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga with Baron Baptiste in 2002. She also studied with Ana Forrest, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, John Friend, and numerous other gifted and talented teachers. Her classes are strong and challenging while making space for different levels and abilities. She intelligently links movement and breath to allow for deeper muscular opening and heat building. She also incorporates arm balancing and longer holds to build strength. Lisa’s intention as a yoga instructor is to enable each and every student to begin to truly feel, and to be able to live life fully from the inside out.
