Lisa is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS) Lisa has been studying yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2004.
Upon moving to Camden, SC, in 2005, she recognized her dream of bringing a yoga studio to this charming southern community known for its horses, history and hospitality. Lisa was one of 52 ambassadors worldwide, selected to represent the United States as a Yoga Ambassador in Kerala, India by the Ministry of AYUSH, India, in 2018. She is trained in beginner through advanced-style yoga and in senior, , prenatal, Yin and core strength yoga. She has studied at various studios throughout the US and is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. She completed her 500 RYT training with the Yoga Center of Asheville and an additional 300-hour certification in Kundalini and Yoga Nidra with Begin Within Yoga. Lisa's teaching style is an eclectic blend derived from Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Yin, Kundalini and Hatha yoga. She has studied with Manju Jois, David Williams, David Life, Sharon Gannon, Master Paulie Zink, Amy Ippoliti, Beth Shaw, Sadhguru and Stephanie Keach, among others. She was one of the first American yoga ambassadors to Kerala India in 2018 as a delegate with YAT sponsored by AYUSH. Lisa completed training to teach the Mindfulness in School's curriculum to bring the practice of mindfulness to young people ages 11-18. She authored an 8-week course in mindfulness for elementary-aged children that can be taught in public schools, churches, or anywhere. She has received 300-hour training in Kundalini Yoga and another 300-hour certification in Advanced Yoga & Meditation Studies and Therapeutic Yoga from the Asheville Yoga School. Her teaching style is compassionate and open-hearted. She encourages without pushing and brings out the best in her students using humor, yogic philosophy, anatomy study, sensitivity and genuine passion. All of Lisa's yoga classes are hatha-inspired, meaning that they incorporate postures and breathwork.
