I discovered yoga in my 30's, after becoming bored with the gym workouts I had been accustomed to since in my teens.
My first yoga class hooked me. It hooked me mainly because I never knew I could sweat that much! It wasn't until I had a regular practice and some years down the road that I realized my favorite aspect of yoga had nearly nothing to do with the physical. It was the powerful changes it had on me, my attitude, and my well being that I realized and appreciated the transcendent capacity for which a yoga practice can provide. My yoga life is one of an inquisitive student, always craving more and extending that excitement for the practice and knowledge learned to practitioners in my classes. It's a continual journey of self improvement, enlightenment, empowerment, and growth. I trained with James Kigar and Judy Weaver at Yoga South, where I earned my 200 RYT. Since then I have also trained with Seane Corn, Kathryn Budig, Leslie Kaminoff, Bo Forbes, Jason Crandell and Kino MacGregor. I now teach at Yoga South, train a local high school football team and travel with groups of teenagers to Costa Rica for surfing and yoga.
