With close to 25 years experience, Lori Lowell is an award-winning fitness educator, consultant and industry visionary, sought after by both industry leaders and the media.
Founder of Group Fitness Solutions (2008) and owner of 10 fitness facilities in the U.S., Lori continually breaks new ground in fitness with such innovative formats as MOI Cycle – a measurable results cycle class and Drishti Beats – a live music vinyasa flow yoga class -- for which she co-founded both. Yoga Practice, development and programs have been a strong focus throughout her career, which has resulted in the Drishti Beats Yoga Teacher Training School 200 Hour and 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training programs. The curriculum both live and online focuses on the vinyasa flow style of yoga. Lori is the recipient of the of the 2015 Julie Main Woman Leader Scholarship award: “Let’s be brave, forthcoming and continue to acknowledge and honour everything that Julie stood for: courage, perseverance, excellence and professionalism. Let’s open our eyes to all of the amazing possibilities that stand in front of us.” Lori began her fitness career as a gym owner in 1995 and quickly became the National Group Fitness Director for Gold’s Gym International with responsibility for programs in 65 corporate-owned Gold’s Gyms across America. Her passion and focus is to continually offer innovative opportunities for people of all ages and fitness levels by building on her quarter-center as a gym owner. She currently is a co-owner of 7 fitness facilities, in Northern Virginia. In 2009, Lori created the Group Fitness Director Training Course, which offers a Certificate of Completion for individuals who successfully complete the coursework in Group Fitness and Programming Operations in a Fitness and or Yoga Facility. Her own experience as one of the industry’s top advisors for club owners and fitness program developers and facilitators is the foundation of the program, for which her energetic, stimulating and educational helps her audience leave with new ideas, training tools and proven guidelines for running successful group fitness departments and motivating fitness employees and instructors. Honored as “Visionary of the Year” by Gold’s Gym, Lori has received numerous awards. First Runner Up for the Gold’s Gym “ACE Fitness Director of the Year” and received its “Best Group Fitness Programs”, “Best In Club Program”, “Franchisee of the Year” and “Presidents Award.” Often sought after for expert comment, Lori is the subject of a chapter in “100 Women Who Love Their Jobs and Why,” by Joanne Burke (Ballantine, 2005). She had been featured in fitness industry magazines and has been on the front cover of Club Solutions Magazine in 2010 and 2014. She is a contributing writer to the publications. She along with her husband Jeremy has also been featured in Club Business International Magazine, latest publication being in November 2019 and continues to be highlighted in industry magazines and publications. As an E-RYT© 500, YACEP©, Lori immersed herself into the development of a unique yoga teacher training program. Filmed around the world and almost a year in the making, her RYS© 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is one of the most in-depth, globally available yoga teacher training ever made. She co-developed an adaptive learning learning platform that offers an immersive yoga teacher training experience at your own comfortable pace.
