Dr.
Lorin Roche began meditating in 1968 as part of physiological research at the University of California. It was there that he was introduced to the luminous teachings of the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra and the 112 doorways into meditative states it presents. He was a subject in meditation research for many years, and at the same time was trained as a teacher of meditation so that he could train other subjects for the scientific research. Lorin has been teaching meditation full time since 1971. He holds a PhD from the University of California at Irvine for his research into the language of meditative experience. Lorin is the author of Meditation Made Easy (Harper, 1998) and The Radiance Sutras (Sounds True, 2014). With Camille Maurine, he co-authored Meditation Secrets for Women (Harper 2001). Lorin has been training meditation teachers since 1972. The emphasis is exploring what works for different types of people. In this tradition, meditation is a love affair with prana, the life force, and the techniques all emerge from our ongoing exploration and excitement.
