About

Lynette is a licensed professional counselor, addiction specialist, and university professor who discovered her passion for yoga during a college PE class.

She vividly recalls her first savasana, where two minutes felt like an eternity, and how that experience sparked her journey of self-discovery. Yoga taught Lynette to find comfort in discomfort and to sit with her thoughts and reflections. While she practiced yoga sporadically over the years, it became a daily ritual after a back surgery in 2016, helping her grow physically stronger, more flexible, and balanced. As someone who provides mental healthcare, Lynette has found peace and healing on the mat, making yoga a meaningful complement to mental health treatment. She completed her 200-RYT in 2022 at Detox Yoga Studios and completed her 300-RYT training in November 2025 with Jules Mitchell Yoga. A lifelong learner, Lynette is dedicated to continuously growing her movement practice and believes in keeping both mind and body sharp. In her classes, Lynette aims to create an environment where students can move their bodies, have fun, and embrace the beauty of imperfection. She believes yoga helps us to see and love ourselves through the lens of our imperfect practice, teaching us that our worth is not tied to perfection but to the courage and compassion we bring to the mat. Lynette incorporates cues that encourage students to explore their own unique expression of each pose, empowering them to honor their bodies and adapt the practice to suit their individual needs. She encourages her students to recognize their inherent value and embrace the qualities that make them who they are, finding joy and self-acceptance through their practice.
