About
I have been practicing yoga since 2002.
I became certified in 2010 and began teaching right away. I teach Vinyasa Yoga, also known as Power Yoga which incorporates cardio into the asana practice. I've also received an additional 25 hours of intensive training in Yoga for Athletes via Yogalete, a program concentrated in the musculoskeletal areas of the body most affected in athletes who train in football, basketball, baseball, swimming and diving, ballet, soccer, dance, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and other cutting sports. Power Yoga is essentially a vinyasa flow class that empowers and transforms the body, mind and spirit. By combining the breath with each asana movement and posture, the mind and body become one and it becomes easier to disengage from the mindless chatter in our brains. Yoga should be a place of self-exploration and should give us a chance to improve our connection to body, mind and spirit. Without this crucial connectedness, we cannot know our true selves. Without giving the body a chance to sweat and detox, we are not reinvigorating cells and are leaving the body to atrophy. The same occurs with the mind. Without a meditative focus where only the breath is what's heard by the brain, we allow ourselves to wander rather than look to the present moment and feel the mind, body, and spirit connection. My training in yoga for athletes helps me to incorporate restorative yoga postures to improve muscle repair and tissue strains so often experienced in sport training of any kind. With Power comes Strength. With Restorative Yoga you get the Repair you need in order to bring on your A-game! Yoga is the key that unlocks! Without my practice, it would be very difficult to manage life's many obstacles.
