About

In 1987 I attended my first yoga class at Unity Church in Houston.

I was hooked on yoga forever more.  Yoga introduced me to a part of myself I am still getting to know.  There seems to be no end in sight to the science of yoga.  With each practice of yoga I get new insights and inspirations.  Yoga seems to help me uncover my true self and its practice guides me to my happiest state of being.    In 1997 I completed a course with Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche at Rice University. This course taught me about meditation and the wonders of the practice.  Rinpoche also taught me to pay close attention to the energy forces in nature. Because of this course I became interested in Reiki.  In 2002 I became a Reiki Master.  Reiki helped me to reach out to others and teach others about their energy and how anyone can use it for vibrant health.  It seemed to naturally follow that I learn about diet and how to eat in a way that allows the body to preserve optimum health.                   In 2004 I began attending the monthly lectures of the Natural Hygiene Society in Houston and continue to do so today.  Natural Hygiene study has introduced me to the wonders of the Plant-Based Diet. I have met T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study. Neal Barnard, The President and Founder of PCRM and Caldwell Esselstyn, the author of Prevent and Reverse Heart Dis*.  These scholars have taught me that plants have everything we need to live.  Evidence of this plant power can be seen in the movie: Forks Over Knives.     In 2014 I completed my first 200 hours in Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga T* College in Houston. This training gave me the confidence to begin my teaching of yoga.   It appears that yoga is the study of more than just postures.  Yoga encompasses energy, breathing, meditation, and diet. Postures seem to be the icing on the cake!  I can see that breathing, visualization and appreciation for the body are just gateways to the outstanding universe that is yoga.    My interests lie in coaching others to become the person they were born to be, to discover the True Self.  One way to discover The Self is through yoga.  This teaching is a wonderful gift on so many levels.  If we just begin where we are, accept where we are in our journey and take small steps forward, we will discover the immense beauty within.  If we trust The Self, we will be guided to our inner truth and greatest wellbeing.  All we must do is begin!  My wish is to pass on the gift of yoga to all.    * = Indicates the YA will not allow this word to appear on this profile.
