About
Rocío Yáñez is a yoga and meditation teacher specializing in mindful, trauma-informed approaches to Kundalini Yoga.
Her work integrates embodied awareness, contemplative inquiry, and spiritual presence as pathways to healing and empowerment. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Radiance Yoga in Alexandria, Virginia, and is currently pursuing her 300-hour certification while advancing her studies with Kundalini University. In parallel, Rocío has completed over 900 hours of training in Mindfulness and Transpersonal Meditation -most notably through the Escuela Española de Desarrollo Transpersonal- where she also trained as a facilitator of women’s circles. Her transpersonal orientation bridges ancient wisdom with modern understandings of consciousness and faith.Originally from Puerto Rico, Rocío serves on the leadership board of the IYTA Escuela Superior de Yoga -one of the oldest yoga institutions in the Caribbean- where she helps preserve its spiritual legacy while supporting new initiatives in community education and teacher training. In her earlier years, Rocío spent seventeen years within the Neocatechumenal Way, an experience that cultivated her discipline, devotional practice, and understanding of community life. This background, combined with her professional experience in international organizations in Washington, D.C., informs her grounded and heart-centered teaching style: contemplative yet accessible, spiritual yet practical; a contemporary expression of modern faith in everyday life.
