Mariecke Leavitt

Mariecke is certified as a Yoga in Schools teacher and registered at the 200 level. She is also a 100 hour Mindfulness in the Classroom certified educator, certified Yin Yoga teacher, a certified Ayurvedic Nutritionist and holds a Pranayama Breath Work certification. Currently Mariecke is studying anatomy of yoga in more depth to improve her ability to help her students more effectively. Mariecke has studied under renown teachers, Jenny Kierstead and Blair Abbass from Breathing Space Yoga Studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, who developed and brought yoga and mindfulness in schools programs to the public school system in Atlantic Canada, as well as learning through the online learning platforms YogaRenew, with Kate Lombardo, and my Vinyasa Practice, with Michelle Young. Mariecke also holds a B.A in Classical History and Applied Arts, a B.Ed. In Fine Art and History and an M.Ed. in Curriculum studies with a focus on Creativity and Mindfulness. With over 20 years of teaching experience Mariecke continues to explore her passion as an educator and a student. She is currently teaching Art and Yoga at Leo Hayes High School in Fredericton NB, Canada bringing creativity, movement and mindfulness practices to her students.
