Marla Mockus discovered yoga during her first year of college when she moved to Santa Barbara CA The feeling yoga brought to every part of her inspired her The thought of using yoga to help transform peoples lives was something that intrigued Marla and she knew from the beginning that it was going to be something her life would hold a space for Today you will find Marla practicing yoga constantly not just in a physical sense but also by living a yogic lifestyle She completed her hr yoga teacher training in on a magical little island called Koh Phangan in Thailand Her teachers name is Johnny Nasello He originated from Portland but has now based his home out of Thailand Her training was an alignment based vinyasa style course which helped to lay down a solid foundation and add to the depth of body awareness in poses Marla loves a juicy slow flow and the dance like qualities of mindfully flowing from pose to pose Diving deeper into alignment based yoga provided a better foundation for her to create sequences that will leave your body feeling worked but refreshed Marla believes yoga is not just a physical practice but involves the mind and spirit as well She will base her classes on the energy of the day by incorporating long holds breath work and deep stretching She truly wants her classes to be accessible to all levels but to challenge the mind and body By using props and modifications she will ensure the best positions for each individual body Any shape size or yogic ability will be sure to leave their mat ready for the day walking on a yoga cloud!.
