Mary Keator, Ph.D.
(RYTA-500 and E-RYT 500) is also a Yoga Alliance continuing education provider (YACEP), which recognizes her as an expert in one or more Yoga Alliance educational categories. Mary has been teaching yoga for over 30 years. She sees yoga as a practice of self-discipline to: heal the body, train the mind, embody compassion, and build healthy communities. Mary believes passionately in helping her students to learn about and deepen their relationship with themselves and one another. She sees the human condition as a complex, diverse and beautiful mystery filled with endless possibilities. One of her many gifts is her ability to guide you towards deeper alignment—body, mind and spirit—through yoga, mindfulness/meditation and spiritual direction. Mary’s training includes Hatha, Iyengar and Anusara yoga. She has studied both in the US and India. Mary has taught yoga classes, workshops and teacher trainings both nationally and internationally. She is a member of RYTA - 500 level), Contemplative Mind in Society and Spiritual Directors International (specializing in yoga, contemplative, and Christian methods and practices). Mary has a Ph.D. in Humanities, and two Master’s degree (Teaching and Theology) as well as a B.A. in Communication Studies. A native to Lenox, Mary spent her young adult life raising her two daughters (Sophia and Madeleine), while living and teaching in Texas and Mexico.
