About
I began my yoga journey in 2000 completing my first 280 hr yoga teacher's training in 2005 under Raji Thron at Yoga Synthesis.
I've taken additional workshops and many short trainings over the years including Sonia Sumar's "Yoga for the Special Child", Phoenix Rising Yoga, and Yoga as Medicine with Dr. Timothy McCall. Being a career physical rehabilitation nurse, I spent 15 years as a private yoga teacher working one on one with medically fragile developmentally disabled children and adults as my background prepared me to. My style of teaching is very much based on proper alignment and modifications needed for those with varied abilities. I also developed a water yoga program which accomodates those benefiting from buoyancy support. I currently teach weekly classes, which include Tai Chi Easy(TM) in my home studio and teach via Zoom during the winters. I will be adding additional weekly classes soon due to interest. I have recently completed a 200 hour Level One Qigong Teacher Training Certification Course which I launched to the public in Feb 2025. I am currently as of January 2026 enrolled in a Qigong advanced movements short course, Ba Gua Zhang which I will complete this fall. I am currently teaching a midwinter session of weekly classes, Intro to Hatha Yoga followed by Intro to Qigong, at a local school in the evenings to adults. Qigong is a perfect compliment to my yoga offerings. I will be taking Level 2 Qigong Teachers training in January 2027. The Qigong Teacher Trainings are 200 hour courses with 60 CE hours of each training counting towards my Yoga Alliance credentials. Though recently retired from a 47 year nursing career I maintain my nursing license and per diem status, and sub locally as a part time American Red Cross WSI/Lifeguard additionally when able to.
