Matt Eshleman came to yoga already having completed several years of graduate study in clinical neuropsychology During years of clinical work in the neurology department at the University of Cincinnati Medical School Matt realized the importance of "pre-habilitation" - helping people develop resilience against the daily stresses of life These academic and clinical studies also made Matt familiar with Western science anatomy and physiology During his years of academic study Matt also developed a strong interest in Taoist and Buddhist philosophy and its relationship to modern psychology During a sabbatical Matt finally followed up on his yearning to explore yoga and it changed his lifes direction Here was a time-tested system for maintaining optimal health at every level of being! He trained first in the Ashtanga Vinyasa system developed by Larry Schultz founder of Its Yoga In he met Paul Grilley and has since been primarily influenced by Pauls teachings of Yin Yoga functional anatomy and meditation Drawing further from Pauls teachers Paulie Zink and Dr Motoyama Matt integrates these studies into what can best be called Taoist Yoga Also a student/practitioner of martial arts and Thai yoga bodywork Reiki and Acro-Yoga and Slackline Yoga as a YogaSlackers teacher he brings to his teachings a very practical knowldege of the physical and energetic systems of the body Matt is the founder and Director of Teacher Training at You Do Yoga.
