About
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to practice, let alone teach this wondrous discipline of Yoga.
It leaves me with a sense of awe and wonder, holistically supports my health, and helps to integrate a measure of peace, ease, generosity and love into all aspects of my life. For these reasons, I strive to provide joyful, nurturing, structurally sound classes that nourish the soul, support inner-growth and present a physical challenge appropriately suited for each practitioner, from the complete beginner to those with a lifetime of experience. All the classes I offer focus on mindful, breath-centered Yoga poses as we learn to move with proper alignment, grace, flexibility, strength, intuition and mindfulness. A typical class will include both grounding and flowing asana, pranayama, meditation and kirtan. My first entry into movement, breath and spiritual inquiry began in 1995 when I started practicing Chi Gung. In 2003 I decided to make the transition from Chi Gung to Yoga, stepped into my first class, and fell in love immediately. In 2006 I was asked to teach my first Yoga class, an opportunity I appreciate every day. I am indebted to so many people who have inspired and taught me but a few are deserving of special mention here - Zhander Remete, Peter Sterios, Amy Matthews, and Gary Kraftsow. With regards to gratitude and thanks, there are no words to describe my feelings for my guru, Swami B.V. Tripurari, who introduced me to Gaudiya Vaishnavism and has been my spiritual guide since 2009. His teachings inspire me everyday, in all aspects of my life.
