He is the author of the critically acclaimed WAKING: A MEMOIR OF TRAUMA AND TRANSCENDENCE (Rodale: 2006) and speaks at conferences, corporations, and higher learning institutions nationwide. Matthew has also emerged as a leading voice in the integrated health movement. In 2010, Matthew was awarded the Pioneer of Integrative Medicine Award from the California Pacific Institute of Health. Previous recipients include Dr. Depak Chopra, Dr. Dean Ornish, and Dr. Mehmet Oz. He has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, American Public Media’s On Being with Krista Tippett, and MN public television and radio.
