About
I discovered yoga by chance while living in South India more than 25 years ago.
Thirteen years of practice led me to complete my 200-hour teacher training in vinyasa yoga in 2013, followed by 500-hour advanced training in 2015.For 20 years, I worked for nonprofit organizations supporting the United States' refugee admissions program—work that taught me how to hold space for people in transition, honor diverse experiences, and create environments of safety and trust. Now I'm bringing that same depth of care to wellness work, because I've witnessed firsthand how yoga transforms lives. It has healed and sustained me through my own challenges, and I truly believe yoga is for everyone. My teaching has been described as healing, uplifting, and heartfelt. I'm committed to making yoga accessible, honoring the wisdom of the practice, and creating space where every person can reconnect with the bright light within themselves.Megan’s teaching style is often described as healing, uplifting, and heartfelt. Each class weaves together creative sequencing, yogic philosophy, and earth-centered wisdom. She encourages students to be present in their bodies, connect deeply with their breath, and find joy in mindful movement. From 2013 to 2019, Megan taught regularly at Tranquil Space in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA, leading weekly classes, specialty workshops, and teacher training. She now teaches regularly at Nimaste Yoga in Kensington, MD and at Uplift Yoga in Olney, MD. Along the way, she has trained with world-renowned teachers like Seane Corn, Anodea Judith, Shiva Rea, and others who deepened her understanding of yoga’s transformative power.Today, through Bright Within Wellness, she brings these tools of transformation into workplaces — helping teams prevent burnout, reduce stress, and shine from within.
