About
I first fell in love with yoga while living in Nagoya, Japan.
I had dabbled with practice here and there prior, but it was while living in a foreign and amazing country where I found myself stepping onto my mat in order to seek solace and acceptance and patience. The yoga seed continued to grow when I became pregnant with my first daughter and yoga saw me through my pregnancy as well as a difficult labor and delivery. Once I left Japan and returned to California, I continued to pursue and feed my passion for all things yoga. I started practicing at Harmony Yoga in Redondo Beach, became part of the family, and jumped at the chance when they offered teacher training. I didn't even know if I would teach at that time, but I did know I wanted to soak up all things yoga and learn Sanskrit and everything else I could under the guidance of my two favorite teachers/mentors, Chappy and Najla. My 200 hr training, which concluded in 2010, was nothing short of inspiring and life changing and I knew I would teach in some capacity in the near future. I had always practiced and sought a very physical yoga practice and so when I started my 500 hr training with Leeann Carey in Yapana Yoga, I had to really slow down and listen to the whys and hows I was feeling in my body. My training, which consisted over the course of a couple of years and many amazing weekend immersions, was just what I needed to round out my yoga practice and teaching. Fast forward to the present and I cannot imagine not offering the gift of teaching. Vinyasa has my heart, but I truly love any kind of yoga practice. As long as your mind, body, breath, and spirit are harmonizing, you’re practicing a form of self care and also connecting with your surroundings and community. Next time you’re on your mat, feel out your vibrations. That’s what I’m talking about. Can’t wait to see you in studio! Until then, Namaste
