Melanie Zehner (She/Her) is a 500hr/E-200 Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School RYS.
She is also an actor (SAG-AFTRA/AEA), writer, and disability advocate. Her teaching philosophy is that yoga is a healing tool that needs to be accessible to everyone Her primary focus is in children's yoga and adaptive yoga for disabled individuals. Melanie received her 200hr and 300hr teacher training from Zen Yoga Garage in Chicago IL. Melanie also has a BA in Theatre, a MA in Physical Acting and is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory.Melanie works as a drama and yoga teaching artist with a wide variety of programs around Chicago, Washington D.C. and internationally through virtual classes. Melanie is a proud member of actor unions’ AEA and SAG-AFTRA. She has directed and written theatrical works for multiple performing arts companies, and interactive museum exhibits. As an accessibility consultant, she has provided inclusive guidance for film productions, museums, theatre companies and performing arts schools. Melanie holds a BA in Theatre from SUNY Potsdam and a MA in Physical Acting from the University of Kent Canterbury. She is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory and a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC). In her spare time Melanie loves to read, bake vegan desserts, and drink lots of tea.
