About
Melody is a 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, and longtime believer in faith and miracles.
In high school she survived a life changing medical trauma, and first discovered yoga as something quiet and nourishing. While bedridden it led her to the world within, that we enter when our eyes are closed, and to very simply follow the breath in and out. Yoga served as a foundational tool for her pain management, and laid the blueprint for future psychological, spiritual, and emotional healing. Melody attended the University of Utah for her Bachelor’s degree, then went on to study yoga and Shamanic ritual work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her classes are a true blend of Hatha and Bhakti, weaving an attitude of devotion and ritual into the traditional asanas we know and love, then deepening into contemplative practices with journaling, mantra and sound. Being human is tough, and she believes we need to practice challenging things to be able to meet the difficulties of our lives. She is experienced with offering modifications, leading chair yoga, using props, hosting retreats, teaching workshops and private lessons, as well as playing instruments (sound bowl, drums, and ukulele). When not crafting yoga rituals or chasing around her toddler, she enjoys working in the garden, playing video games with her husband, and studying the intersection of folklore, religion and magic.
