Meryem was born and raised in Morocco and started her practice over 12 years ago upon her move to Hong Kong.
She began practicing yoga to relieve back pain and reduce stress. Shortly after she started practicing Hatha yoga regularly, she realized that yoga was more than just a physical practice and was fascinated by its philosophy. She began travelling around the world, exploring different lineages and sharing her practice with friends and family ever since. Upon her move to NYC, she became a certified yoga teacher to share her passion with an even wider audience. Meryem CHOUIRF-MCCLINTOCK is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). Meryem is the Founder of qarryaretreats.com, a yoga and wellness retreats platform created to transport yogis outside of their studios to further develop their practice while discovering the colorful and enchanting landscape that is Morocco.
