I am a yoga + meditation teacher who feels a strong calling for helping people connect to and become acquainted with both practices regardless of ability experience body type and fitness level As a confirmed nature-lover I am also committed to the integration and weaving of yoga and meditation with nature studies and have co-developed a curriculum and program The program is called First Nature Yoga and is a partnership I have created with a yoga teacher/naturalist that brings forth this mission I have studied and practiced many forms of yoga and can teach customized curriculum to meet a students personal needs from gentle and restorative to more physical flow forms of practice I can also offer instruction in various methods of mindful meditation and visualization practices including Yoga Nidra also known as "yogic sleep" I also enjoy creating original flow sequences with the addition of movements and poses that go beyond the standard yoga toolbox In other words I include poses and movements that I have created and developed myself Additionally I have trained with Veterans Yoga Project to teach veterans and active duty military who suffer the effects of and challenges of PTSd I have an open and playful style and approach to teaching I believe serious practice has room for laughter and play I also like to braid poetry and concepts of Zen and the Tao Te Ching all of which I have studied into my teaching I currently teach a weekly Yoga Nidra at Yogala Studios in Echo Park Los Angeles which includes opening gentle yoga and restorative poses I also work with Veterans Yoga Project teaching veterans and those in a wellness recovery center at the Century Villages in Cabrillo in Long Beach and at the Salvation Army Shelter/GrowGood Urban Farm in the city of Bell Further I teach weekly gentle yoga classes to the clients of a chiropractic office and also a weekly class in self care yoga and meditation to case workers at the Dept of Health & Human Service Multi Service Center.
