About
I have been practicing yoga since 2013 and have been teaching since fall of 2014.
In January 2015 I started my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program through The Bhaktishop Yoga Movement Center and completed that training in June 2015; and I am now a registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. My initial yoga training was focused on Bhakti yoga; and while I am not a fan of labels, if I had to, I would say my teaching style tends to be more slow flow. In my classes we will focus more on holding the postures once we have safely moved into them, allowing time to be in the pose so the person can really get a sense of what their body feels like it in, establishing that mind-body connection; and really getting all of the physical benefits the pose provides the body. I also like to have more of a focus on syncing movement with the breath. But as with any practice the look and feel of my sequences can changes from sequence to sequence; and as my education continues to evolve so does my teaching.Things can also look very different with private lessons. In private lessons we are focusing on the individual needs of the person involved; specific postures they want to focus on, working with any possible injuries, etc. That is one of the things I love about doing private lessons; that one on one connection, really allowing the person time to focus on their wants and needsI am also currently in an advanced 300 hr Spiritual Warrior yoga training through Yoga Farm Ithaca (focusing on Kundalini yoga and Ayurveda, with a focus on Enneagram and Lunar cycles).I would love to work with you as you expand your own practice.
