About

I found refuge in yoga after surviving a traumatic event in 2003 and sensing that my recovery would require working at the physical, psychological, and spiritual level.

Working one-on-one with the compassionate, skillful support of my primary teacher at that time, I was able to incrementally metabolize my experience and recognize my body as a resource for resilience. I was inspired to share this revolutionary and deeply personal practice with others. In 2008, I pursued a formal 200-hour certification at YogaWorks in Santa Monica with Claire Mark and Patti Quintero. My main teaching influences include the teacher training faculty at yogaview in Chicago (Tom Quinn, Quinn Kearney, Claire Mark) and I continue to learn from my students and my own practice. Since relocating to Oregon in 2012, I have been privileged to study asana, pranayama, meditation, and yoga theory under the seasoned guidance of senior yoga instructor, Kristin Laak who has deepened my personal practice as well as my teaching on every level. In addition to offering public and private alignment-based vinyasa yoga classes, I also offer trauma-informed yoga instruction. I strive to bring a trauma-informed lens into any and every class I teach - giving my students a clear sense of agency, choice, options, and permission to listen to and be guided by their inner teacher. I offer teacher trainings for yoga instructors exploring the nuances of creating a trauma-informed environment as well as individual teacher consultations. My intention is to contribute to all members of our yoga teaching community developing greater tools and capacity to support students navigating trauma recovery through yoga.
