Monique Parker, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, YACEP, Certified Vedic Chanting Teacher Originally from Silicon Valley, I've been based in Northern New Mexico for the past twenty years where I've owned a yoga therapy studio and yoga school, and founded and directed the Yoga Teacher Certification Program at the University of New Mexico-Taos.
Besides working as a yoga therapist and educator, I'm also a certified teacher of Vedic chanting. Since the pandemic began, I've been teaching online, building a global community of practitioners who wish to deepen their practice through the transformative power of Sanskrit and Vedic mantra-s. I've been a practitioner for close to thirty years, a teacher for twenty, and educator for fifteen years in the tradition of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, specifically mentoring with Menaka Desikachar and the A.G. Mohan family in India. Before that, my teachers have included Kofi Busia, Gary Kraftsow and Sonia Nelson. I offer Vedic chanting courses for professional development with both Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and love helping others discover their authentic voice and heart opening of Adhyayanam (Vedic chanting). I travel to India regularly to deepen and further my studies. As part of my sāddhanā I create sacred art to help me connect with my divine nature and send prayers into the world. We can never have enough! My humble gratitude to my teachers and Sri T. Krishnamacharya and his lineage of great acharyas for making these timeless teachings and tools accessible to all.
