About
I discovered yoga in 2003 and fell in love with it! Since then I have practiced a number of styles including hatha, ashtanga, yin, flow/vinyasa, SUP, partner, gentle and hot yoga.
I love the variety of lineages and their history. I needed yoga in my life. It helped me to find balance in my hectic and at times stressful, crazy shift working career as a 911 operator/police dispatcher and mother of two. Yoga centres me, keeps me focused, healthy, active and happy. Initially when I began to practice it was very much the physical aspect I enjoyed and the amazing noticeable results. However, I have since discovered there is so much more to yoga than asana. I enjoy and am exploring the intriguing yogic philosophies, & pranayama, spiritual & meditative benefits from yoga as a whole. I wanted to take my yoga teacher training for a number of years but until recently, life had gotten in the way. I am ecstatic that I have now completed my 200 hour RYT with the highest of standards through SOYA (South Okanagan Yoga Academy) RYS in hatha yoga.My certification included:Yoga Philosophy Studies in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali & the Bhagavad GitaHatha Yoga Practices, Techniques & Teaching SkillsBasic Anatomy & Physiology Pranayama Mantra & Chanting Beginner Lesson Plans & Apprenticeship TeachingBenefits & Modifications for Asanas Kriyas ChakrasMeditation & RelaxationSanskrit Terms & PronunciationI have continued my yoga eduction yearly through SOYA’s annual retreats from practitioners from India, the US & across Canada. I have also furthered my YTT & have been certified in yin yoga in March 2024. I had the honour of receiving my teacher training from Jolene Bayda. With age my body seems to crave the restorative slower & deeper postures of yin. I truly believe there is a style of yoga for everyone! I look forward to sharing space with you. I hope to see you on the mat!Sending Om 💚 Namaste 🙏🏻 Natalie 🧘♀️
