About
Nick Freeland discovered yoga in 2004 while attending California State University, Fullerton.
Under the guidance of Professor Patrick Freeman, he began using mindful movement to relieve pain and build strength and flexibility. These early experiences planted the seeds for a lifelong appreciation of yoga. After earning his B.A. in Psychology, Nick spent over 15 years working with youth and families in challenging circumstances, including roles at Crittenton Services and the Orange County Probation Department. His journey through multiple orthopedic surgeries and eventual service-connected disability retirement in 2021 deepened his understanding of the body’s need for healing, mobility, and mindful care.In 2022, Nick began an intensive practice at Yoga Sol in Yorba Linda, and in 2024, he earned his Registered Yoga Teacher RYT-200 certification through Anahata Yoga and Wellness. He is proud to have completed a comprehensive, hands-on teacher training program rooted in traditional practices and anatomy-informed instruction.Nick’s classes integrate gentle movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and sensory elements such as essential oil sprays, calming homemade candles, singing bowls, and relaxing sounds. His goal is to create a welcoming space for all bodies; especially those navigating pain, tightness, or limited mobility. As a proud dance dad to a member of Performing Arts Empire’s Company Minis team, Nick is excited to offer yoga classes in this creative and inspiring environment. Whether you’re a dancer, parent, or community member, you’re invited to slow down, stretch out, and reconnect through yoga.
