About
Nicki is a BioMechanics Method Corrective Exercise Specialist. She began teaching movements for performers in the theater in 1992.
With an interest in fitness and stress reduction, she studied varied techniques to enhance the quality of life for individuals. While working in the theater, Nicki received a diploma from the Urban Yoga Institute in New York City, and continued extensive studies at Sivananda Ashram in the Catskill Mountains in Woodburne, NY to qualify as a Yoga Siromani (Teacher of Yoga). In New York she worked as a yoga consultant for fashion and fitness magazines, and frequently appeared as a yoga expert on a television station. Nicki moved from New York to Austin Texas in 1995 to open her own studio and work as a master trainer (mentoring and educating movement professionals) and Yoga Director (developing programs and classes). She has been a fitness professional with American Council on Exercise since 2004 coaching a variety of movement formats. Nicki lives in Austin with her life partner Andrew and enjoys cycling, gardening, traveling whenever possible, and is a floral designer for special events.
