I have been teaching high school dance fitness and wellness since Prior to I worked in the corporate fitness industry as a personal trainer group exercise instructor corporate wellness presenter and an exercise specialist for several health and fitness clubs around Chicago IL I also was a varsity level dance team coach and choreographer and danced on the Milwaukee Bucks NBA dance team I graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and a Dance minor and then continued to Northern Illinois University to complete my masters degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education In addition to my yoga training I have been certified in MBSR-T Transformation Meditation and Trauma-Informed Yoga I have also taken trainings with the Art of Living in Sky Breath Meditation and the Sahaj Meditation techniques Additional trainings that I have taken include: Breath Coaching and Yoga Trapeze with YOGABODY and the Integrated Corrective Exercise Specialist with IMS I have taken all three levels of the Usui Reiki Method and completed a comprehensive Pilates + hour certification program through Breathe Education After overcoming a year-long battle with postpartum depression and anxiety after the birth of my twins back in I found healing with yoga meditation and energetic healing After overcoming my own struggles I felt passionate about bringing the work of yoga into the classroom with my high school students So in I created and implemented a complete yoga program for high school seniors as a physical education elective to help them navigate the stressors that come with being a teen My passion is helping my students and clients find joy in breath and movement in order to help them lead a long and more enjoyable life My classes focus on integrating breath and alignment in each movement and allow my students to develop a better sense of empowerment through a trauma-informed lens Over the years I have also been trained in and taught several fitness formats such as Cardio Kickboxing PIYO Zumba HIIT Spinning STOTT Mat Pilates Xtend Barre Strength and Conditioning along with getting trained from the Cooper Institute ACE and AASDN I love teaching all aspects of fitness wellness and health and love to blend all of my experiences into my classes When I am not teaching I am keeping busy by continuing my education in yoga Pilates health and wellness and spending time with my husband twin daughters and son I also love to travel dance go to music concerts and spend time outdoors!.
