About
I took my first yoga class as a teenager in 2006.
I immediately loved it, flowing from posture to posture felt like dancing. In time I became an instructor with the main objective being to lead students through sequences that "felt good". In the next couple years I noticed changes to my body; new tightness, tension, and headaches. I associated my yoga practice and poor movement patterns with my discomfort. Through working with a variety of functional medicine providers I came to more fully understand the body, mind, and soul connection. During this time my love for Yin yoga was developed as it was my source of grounding and organizing my nervous system. In 2020 I participated in the LYT Yoga Method training created by physical therapist Lara Heimann. I found this training with a hunger to better understand the body. I learned the anatomy I sought after and much more. Lara's teachings were based in physiology, kinesiology, and neurology. This training emphasized intelligent cueing and sequencing. LYT yoga provides practices designed to educate individuals and override poor movement patterns. I have never felt more prepared and I am thrilled to be sharing the LYT Yoga method!
