Dedicated Yoga Teacher & Practitioner Niki was born in India and grew up in a spiritual community where she learned yoga and mediation from a young age.
She has been practicing Yoga as a way of life for 36 years. She has traveled and lived in the Middle east and Asia and is now based out of Vancouver, Canada. She is trained in Advanced postural alignment from Isva Yoga, a 200 hour Basic Teachers Training, an intensive 900 hour Advanced Teachers Training and a 100 hour Yoga Therapy for management of various health conditions from the The Yoga Institute, the world’s longest established yoga school established in 1918, based in Mumbai, India. She is currently studying Yoga Counselling to help manage anxiety, depression and PTSD and Pre- and Post Natal Vinyasa Yoga from The Dolphin Method in California. She is a registered RYT 500 yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance, USA Niki’s practice incorporates Ashtang, Iyengar, Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. She actively pursues yogic breath work (pranayama), meditation, study of yogic scriptures in the original Sanskrit, mindfulness and follows a yogic diet and lifestyle. She reinforces her practice with ongoing Vipassana meditation and 10-day silent meditation sittings each year. Niki maintains a traditional Indian approach to Yoga and uses her training and experience to guide students in their journey of self-discovery to lead a powerful and healthy life. Her teachings include consciousness based work around Chakra healing and identifying deep rooted behaviour patterns and sensitivities through techniques based on deep self introspection. She currently offers a large variety of workshops, Yoga Therapy, Yoga Flow and Posture Perfect Yoga sessions to students of all ages at her private Vancouver studio. She founded International Yoga Network as a platform where yoga students and enthusiasts can come together and share their knowledge to benefit others and deepen their personal practice.
