About

Nina Natasha Borg is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).

Natasha began practicing yoga more than 20 years ago when she served in the US Navy.  After the Navy, an injury forced Natasha to walk with a limp, sometimes a crutch, and a great deal of pain. It hurt to walk, to sit, and even to sleep. Immobility and lack of sleep led to severe depression and weight gain. With the approval of her Orthopediist Natasha returned to practicing yoga in earnest. What began as a practice to reduce stress evolved into a life long journey of transformation. Through the practice of yoga Natasha not only found peace, she lost 65 lbs and began to soothe more than just her injury, she found restoration for her worn our spirit.  She began to share yoga with anyone who asked her about her transformation. She shared yoga at church, at school, at the gym, and in even her living room. Then, at the urging of her friends and family she attended her first teacher training with Senior Iyengar Teacher Richard Schachtel in Seattle, Washington in 2006. She received her 200hr certification from Senior Intermediate Iyengar Teacher Nancy Stechart in Hotchkiss, Colorado in 2007. She has attended workshops taught by experienced and respected teachers with backgrounds in Iyenger, Ashtanga, Anusara, Bikram, iRest, Kripalu, Vinyasa/Power, and Yin yoga including Doug Keller, Julie Lawrence, Chris Saudek, Kathryn Budig, Dana Gelinas, Sara Levine, Kimberly Puryear, Annie Okerlin, Dana Moore, Stepanie Keach, Libby Hensley, Vishnu Dass, Shala Worsley, and David Garrigues.   Natasha completed her 500hr certification through the Asheville Yoga Center. Even though her teacher training began in the Iyengar style, she has since practiced, learned, and incorporated many other forms and approaches to the art of yoga and meditation into her teaching style. She recently completed training in Adaptive Yoga designed for participants with trauma related injuries such as PTSD, paralysis, amputation, and traumatic brain injury.  Natasha welcomes all participants and can safely help them modify any posture to suit their individual needs. She teaches with an open heart, plenty of humor, and joyful attitude.  She loves to share her passion for yoga and anatomy with her students.
