About

HATHA * VINYASA FLOW * YIN YOGA * YOGA NIDRA * CHAKRA BALANCING YOGA * KRIYA YOGA * VEDIC CHANTING * MEDITATION * YOGA PHILOSOPHYOctavia Nasr's yoga practice began more than twenty years ago and has been evolving since.

Her dedication is expressed through a daily Sadhana that includes asana, pranayama, and meditation. She considers yoga to be a gift of peace and non-harming that has nurtured her when she was consumed by a highly demanding job and through every thick and thin of life to date. She believes that in teaching, she reflects all the love, dedication, and selflessness of her teachers. Octavia took her first yoga class by chance and has never stopped practicing yoga since. Her hunger for learning took her to yoga studios, gyms, ashrams, and retreat centers near and far all over the world. She attended workshops and immersed herself in various yoga styles with diverse teachers in various languages. For years, she planned her vacations around yoga and used work trips as opportunities to try new yoga styles and meet like-minded people. Her journey has taken her to India twelve times. She has traditionally resided at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh. There, she learned yoga philosophy and was initiated by Sadhvi Abha Saraswati “Mataji” on Vedic Chanting in 2007. Experiencing the humility of ashram living, immersed in prayer, meditation, yoga asanas, and daily Ganga Aarti, are the soulful treasures that keep calling her back. She teaches Yogasana classes as well as a Yin Yoga Continued Education immersion at Parmarth Niketan Ashram whenever she visits. Octavia completed her first 200-hour teacher training course at Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta and a 300-hour advanced training in Arambol, India, at the Yogvit Yogshala. In 2015, she completed an intensive 100-hour Kriya Yoga training at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh. In 2018, she completed a 20-hour Teacher Training in Yin Yoga and an immersion in Yoga Nidra with Tracee Stanley. In 2020, she completed the 100-hour training and certification of Paul Grilley's Yin Yoga: The Functional Approach. Also in 2020, she completed theYogaWorks 100-hour senior teacher training program. In 2022, she published her thesis: The Identity of Yoga: Contemporary VS Traditional Yogic Discourse. You can read it here. Now, the journey continues as Octavia is committed to using her knowledge and experience to help people tap into their higher selves to deal with illness, trauma, PTSD, work pressure, anxiety, balancing career and personal life, or anything else that might be ailing or troubling them. Octavia believes yoga is about serving others, which in turn helps her grow spiritually.
