About

Paula G.

Morris is an E-RYT500 and YACEP Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training certification of a minimum of 500 hours training with approved and active YA Registered Yoga Schools (RYS), as well as 10 years of experience teaching yoga since 2008, and the ability to instruct teachers and other healthcare/wellness providers as a registered continuing education provider. She has trained in the Kripalu, Integral, Iyengar, and Anusara styles and is certified Anusara-Inspired for advanced teaching knowledge in safe, balanced structural biomechanical alignment and movement. Her credentials include over 1000 hours of specialty yoga education in mind-body health applications of yoga for individuals and groups, five years of expertise as a professional with that mission, and official C-IAYT certification by IAYT.org. Her yoga education and expertise includes MBSR/MBCT mindfulness and breathing techniques for stress-reduction and cognitive function; trauma-sensitive yoga nidra, somatic, breathing, and guided meditation approaches; yoga for cancer, cardiac, and chronic illnesses, and certification by the American Heart Association as a BLS/AED/CPR Life Support Provider. Paula is also a Power Pilates Mat instructor who completed full classical Pilates training and infuses a core focus into all her yoga sessions through awareness that Pilates is a series of yoga poses borrowed, improvised, and enhanced by Joseph H. Pilates in the early 1900s. She holds a Masters degree in Education through Sacred Heart University. Her classes, workshops, and private sessions emphasize the full wellness practices of yoga in the larger definition of mind-body-spirit-lifestyle, and the eight limbs of ancient yoga's practices and benefits including the yamas, niyamas, pranayama breathwork, asana postures modified for the needs, goals, and limitations of participants, and sensory, emotional, concentration, and meditation techniques for greater awareness, mastery of self, health, and life.
