About

I began my exploration of yoga and meditation in 1997.

My first trainings were with YogaFit and I began teaching yoga in 2000 at the fitness center where I taught fitness and spinning classes.    My love for yoga encouraged me to explore the studies and practice more deeply.  In 2005, I left my corporate position in the circulation arena to take an in-depth teacher training in Anusara Yoga.  After years of training and studying, I received my Anusara certification in late 2011.   In 2012 I was pronounced to have breast cancer.  Upon the news and surgeries that ensued, I was uncertain that I would be able to continue teaching and/or practicing yoga.  I made the most of the situation by developing modifications to the poses when I was able to return to my personal yoga practice.   I also used this time to dig deeper into breath work and meditation techniques. Since my introduction to yoga, I have been fortunate to study and train extensively with many internationally recognized teachers.  I am eternally grateful for their guidance, wisdom and inspiration.  I continue to study with internationally-recognized teachers and local teachers.  I learn from each person that I meet, especially my students.  I delight in sharing my knowledge of yoga; my personal mission being to help others feel better about themselves as they tap into their own wellspring of vibrancy, strength and joy.  I strive to teach classes that are explorative, playful and empowering; weaving themes applicable to daily living.   My students are my biggest source of inspiration, along with my dog.
