About
Yoga found Rachel while she was a high school teacher.
Her employer arranged for yoga classes as a way to help teachers find stress relief. She was a workaholic and a long-time runner who never truly took time to stretch, rest, or recover. Rachel left that first yoga class a completely new person. She began to practice daily, and made the decision to enroll in the Inspired Living yoga teacher training in 2017. She studied with Sara Cain-da Costa and Michele Tampa Hoag, graduated in June 2018, and started teaching the very next week. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she had the opportunity to train with Bhakti Yogshala based in Rishikesh, India and received her 500 RYT in September 2021. Passionate about various styles of yoga, Rachel loves to teach power vinyasa, restorative, yin, slow flow, and deep stretch. She has taught all over the Charlotte Metro area in a variety of settings: studios, gyms, outdoor events, workshops, private sessions, and virtual settings. She is also the Livestream Coordinator for YogaVibes.com, as well as a livestream instructor. This year, Rachel partnered with the City of Rock Hill, SC and received a grant to provide FREE Yoga in the Park to her community. She has also recently joined forces with her mentor, Sara Cain-da Costa, and they will be leading a 200 hour yoga teacher training in early 2022. Rachel has a B.A. in English Language and Literature with a minor in secondary education and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in TESOL, both from Winthrop University. She loves to study yogic texts and write meditations to incorporate into her classes. Rachel incorporates a mindful variety of asana, pranayama, and meditation to help each student practice their own unique form of yoga. Connect with Rachel on her website or on social media. She would love to see you in one of her 4 weekly classes on YogaVibes. Visit the “Live Online Classes” page to register!
