About
Rachel’s journey with meditation and yoga began when her 3rd grade teachers led her and other students in the practice she later came to know as yoga nidra.
What a gift! When she was in her 20s, being an introvert (and because yoga wasn’t really “a thing” where she was living at the time) Rachel was self-taught, with the use of classic books, in the daily practice of yoga. Fast forward to 2015, with the intent to deepen her home practice and to augment her work as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Rachel attended yoga teacher training which offered special emphasis on learning, practicing, and facilitating T herapeutic Yoga. Aligned with her work in mental health, Rachel teaches with a trauma-informed orientation, emphasizing and honoring agency over one’s own body and respecting individual experiences and differences. Much like life, Rachel approaches yoga with a perpetual beginner’s mind, insatiable curiosity, and passion for sharing in the journey of self-discovery. Rachel and her husband Paul are living happily-ever-after in Abbeville County, South Carolina, with their dog, cats, horses, mule, and chickens.
