About
After many years as a dancer and community theatre performer, injuries (and motherhood) forced me to hang up my dancing shoes.
Inspired by a news article about people who ditched their desk jobs to take up healthy lifestyle careers, I enrolled in teacher training, and now work part time at my office and teach yoga. With the growing amount of research showing how bad desk jobs and stress are for the body, I believe we must change our work culture to accommodate our physical and emotional needs. Yoga is great at any age, but especially as we get older yoga can help lessen the effects of repetitive motion, injuries and chronic conditions. It has helped me manage my arthritis. Yoga increases our flexibility, agility, strength, and balance. It teaches us to take a step back from our hectic lives to clear our minds and lower our stress, which in turn allows us to engage in our daily lives with more vigor and inspiration. I enjoy working with adults, who bring awareness and commitment to the practice, and I also love teaching kids, who approach yoga with energy and creativity. I teach Hatha Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yoga for Arthritis, Office Yoga, Kids Yoga, and Family Yoga.
