About
“Yoga has supported me in so many ways, one of the major ones is the way I truly enjoy the gift of Life.” In 2009, Rebecca began her journey with yoga at the YMCA.
The teacher, Sunny Ho, shared not only the practice of yogic poses, meditation, and breathing but also helped people learn that yoga teaches us to let go of ego, to value and accept ourselves, and to connect with others. Since then, Rebecca began practicing frequently and was inspired to learn more about the many parts of yoga. In 2014, she completed her 200 hr. teacher training at Beloved Yoga with Maryam Ovissi and Jafar Alexander. Today, Rebecca believes that Yoga has supported her journey towards a life she truly enjoys. Having worked for 10 years as a school social worker, Rebecca has always been passionate about helping others learn how to deal with stress and take care of themselves. She is thrilled to be able to support the journey of self care through the sharing and teaching of Yoga. Through her service, she experiences shifts happening everyday in her students and for this she is deeply grateful. Rebecca continues to enjoy deepening her learning and practice. She has a gift and skill to work with children, adults, and seniors, all ages and all abilities. So far, she has been able to meet every person where they are. Rebecca feels grateful to all her teachers who have supported her and to all the students who allow her to share. Rebecca is a mother of two girls and lives in Herndon, Virginia. She loves laughing and walking and exploring both nature and city life. She loves to admire of the uniqueness of every human being and believes we can all benefit from the practice of Yoga.
