Beckys yoga journey began at age as a way to stretch tight muscles after taking up cycling—riding up to miles a week Encouraged by her oncologist to add more cardio to help prevent cancer recurrence she found that yoga offered not only physical benefits but also peace of mind and spiritual healing She is a -hour RYT through Big River Yoga TN After moving to New Orleans she continued her training with Soul School hours with Sean Johnson and Mitchel Bleier Bhaktimmersion hours with Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band and most recently the Living Yoga Teacher Training LYTT hours at Wild Lotus Studio with Anne Compton Lambeth During LYTT she deepened her practice and learned to embody yoga as a way of life To Becky yoga is now a lifelong journey—far more than what happens on the mat It takes dedication curiosity and a willingness to go beyond the physical Transformation comes through consistent daily practice even in small ways—like a restorative pose a breath technique or meditation She continues to study the roots of yoga and embraces being a lifelong student rather than striving to master anything Becky credits her calm presence as an elementary school teacher to being “heavily meditated” She continues to grow through retreats yoga festivals and most recently private yoga therapy with Tamarin Hennebery following a recent recurrence a bump on her healing journey Through stillness Becky has learned to listen deeply return to herself and reconnect with her soul She is profoundly grateful for the community shes practiced with: “We laughed we cried we supported each other You are my tribe my soul family” To her teachers—Anne Compton Lambeth Sean Johnson Mitchel Bleier Kate Healy Cindy Male Tamarin Hennebery Vera Lester Andra Aitken Rebecca Crenshaw Lauren Best-Shapiro and all the incredible teachers at Wild Lotus and beyond—she offers her heartfelt thanks: “Your guidance has been my light Youve not only deepened my practice but reshaped how I move through the world Thank you for sharing your wisdom and your authentic devotional expression of the divine through bhakti”.
