I was first introduced to yoga meditation and Eastern philosophy while still in high school and developed my practice in the years that followed In I completed my first -hour training in Hatha yoga and in the spring of relocated to Colorado to continue my education under the guidance of an internationally renowned teacher whose school was deeply rooted in the Anusara methodology With them I completed an additional -hour training as part of their Teacher Mentorship Program -hour training - and had the pleasure of assisting internationally at workshops festivals and teacher trainings in their On the Road program In I began working for the school as the studio/on-site manager in addition to overseeing marketing operations student services and eventually becoming supporting faculty for teacher trainings until my departure in I now consider myself a bit of a “yoga mutt” when it comes to teaching postural yoga untethered to any one dogma or method and enjoy studying from a number of teachers including Jason Crandell Tiffany Cruikshank Darren Rhodes Rod Stryker Judith Lasater and many more Im grateful for the guidance of my teachers past and present and am honored to continue their legacy through my own teaching My teaching as well as my personal practice is inspired by the non-dual tantric traditions of Abhinavagupta and his student Kṣemarāja They offer a life-affirming philosophy that teaches us that there is no separation between the ordinary and the divine the physical and the spiritual Our practice is a journey through the heart to remember that there is no other that is not you and to see the sacredness in every day life My insatiable curiosity and desire to dive deeply into the many wells of yoga informs my own practice and serves as the foundation for my teaching I strive to offer students tools that will help them adapt their yoga practice to serve their unique needs and to cultivate a meaningful relationship with themselves on a physical mental emotional and spiritual level for whole-being By integrating body mind and spirit into modern postural yoga hatha yoga practices and self inquiry I encourage each practitioner to listen to their inner wisdom honor their unique path and recognize the infinite potential within.
