About

20 years ago, I decided that Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Diabetes, and Raynaud's Syndrome would not define me, and my son changed my views on personal health and my yogic lifestyle began to evolve.

I completed my RYT200 training with Chattanooga Yoga School, a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance, in cooperation with Southern Soul Yoga in 2019. I completed my RYT300 training with Breathe for Change, a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance, in 2024. I also have my Breathe For Change TEACH Method Certification, which certifies me to lead wellness & SEL practices, PD, & programs in a trauma- informed, equitable, accessible, community-based, and healing-centered way. I hold a valid “highly qualified” Alabama teaching certificate, and I have completed a total of 23 years in public education, consisting of experience as a high school English and Theatre educator, a community college theatre administrator, and currently as a middle school educator specializing in FIRST Robotics and Theatre. I have extensive experience in breathing technique, body alignment and awareness, mind-body connection, and movement as well as a deep wealth of knowledge in communications, management, and education. I have completed extensive coursework in Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Asana Yoga Class Sequencing, and Yoga Philosophy & Social Change. I currently teach private clients in Gulf Shores, AL, and I am working on my Master's in Education with Breathe for Change through Woolf University. I am concentrating on Transformative Teaching and Leadership and developing my capstone project, which is a wellness curriculum for my classroom practice called B.E.L.I.E.V.E.: Building Engaged Learners through Innovative Educational Values and Expression.
