About
I took my first yoga teacher training because my favorite yoga teacher moved out of the area.
I liked her style of yoga and thought I'd get the basics down so I could do a practice on my own. After that first training, I was hooked. I decided then to continue with the trainings and begin teaching. Because I enjoy yoga so much and because I personally like to support and help out the community I have done yoga classes for Girl Scout troops, kid's running clubs, at conferences I was attending for my day job, and a summer 'yoga in the park' series to raise funds for a project at the park. My classes at the Eastern Lycoming YMCA focus on stretching and relaxing. I have one of the last time slots of the evening, so I use the class to help everyone wind down from the day and increase range of motion. The classes are diverse and never the same mix of people. There have been MMA fighers, semi-pro football players, and high school runners right next to a grandmother fighting arthritis, a working mom trying to reduce stress, and a retired gym teacher working at keeping her hips relaxed after a car accident.
