Ricky is a yoga teacher who ignites creativity and inspiration for life guiding people on a journey of self-discovery and well-being His goal is to leave his students with a sense of energetic calm and focus finding their inner smile through the transformative power of yoga Raised in Eugene Oregon Rickys upbringing was shaped by his mothers influence as a sound and energy healer yoga teacher and intuitive empath Along with being brought up in yogic buddhist and shamanic practices Ricky fell in love with music studying various instruments and composition In pursuit of both a music career and spiritual growth Ricky ventured to New York City where he found musical inspiration as well as deep immersion in Japanese martial arts and meditation earning multiple black belts and teaching for many years Rickys journey also led him to delve into wilderness skills and nature awareness studying under Tom Brown Jr at the Tracker School  Ricky served as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer in the US Air Force Academy Band and has shared his saxophone talents with tens of millions of people worldwide for years Ricky gives his wealth of knowledge and passion as a music educator at Colorado College where he directs the Tiger Jazz Ensemble and offers classes in Music Business Jazz Improvisation and Saxophone Additionally he serves as a Jazz Graduate Mentor at the University of Arkansas at Monticello and he teaches adjunct music classes at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs With a diverse background and extensive experience in music martial arts and yoga Ricky brings a unique and inspiring perspective to his yoga teaching empowering students to embrace their inner harmony and find balance amidst the stresses of life.
