About
Roger has practiced yoga for over 25 years and taught yoga and meditation weekly since 2008.
He has been immersed in a variety of styles, including hot yoga, power yoga, bhakti yoga and Forrest Yoga. He currently teaches Forrest yoga inspired classes with an emphasis on breath, alignment and feeling. Students in his classes feel supported, empowered, inspired and connected to themselves in a whole new way. Roger encourages his students to take the lessons learned on the mat into everyday life and to practice yoga and live life wholeheartedly.Roger is originally from Fort Worth, Texas and found his way to Houston in 1995 for school and has grown deep roots here. Just weeks after running the Houston Marathon, he attended his first hot yoga class (which he thought was way harder than the marathon) with his now wife, Albina, and felt that first time a previously unfathomable depth of relaxation and stillness during savasana. He has been a student of yoga ever since and has practiced a variety of yoga styles over the years. He holds a 200 hour YTT certificate from The Yoga Institute. He is a Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher at the 500 Hour Level. He is also a Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher at the 300 hour level under the guidance of Master Teacher, Ana Forrest. He completed two, 10-day Bhakti Flow Immersions with Rusty Wells. His primary teachers are Ana Forrest, Rusty Wells, his wife Albina, and his three children.Roger and his wife, Albina, were the founders of YogaOne, a community of 7 yoga studios in Houston, Texas and Mat2Mat, an online yoga platform (www.mat2mat.com), and they formerly were the caretakers and founders of the Blue Sky Yoga & Meditation Retreat Center in Taos, New Mexico. Currently, they reside in Austin, Texas and lead yoga trainings and retreats around the world. To learn more go to: www.rippyyoga.com. "Traveler, there is no path.
