About
Sara came to yoga after a lifetime of competitive athletics.
From a young age, Sara began to dedicate herself to the sport of swimming and worked hard to achieve success through grade school and through college, but after her swimming career ended after graduating from UW-Eau Claire, she searched for something that had the perfect balance of building strength and relaxing the mind. Sara tried running and even did a few half marathons, a triathlon, even a Tough Mudder, but nothing grabbed her attention long enough to make a lasting impact. Until late 2016, when Sara stumbled into a studio that forever changed her life. In 2017, Sara chose to pursue her 200 hour training under the Minneapolis Yoga Training and Wellness program partnered with the The Yoga Room in Eau Claire, WI. Through this 9 month program, Sara fell in love with the history and study of yoga. After obtaining her 200 RYT certification, Sara began teaching Vinyasa Flow and Beginners Alignment based classes at The Yoga Room in Eau Claire. Returning to her roots, she also teaches youth athletics yoga within swim teams in the Eau Claire community. Sara's mentors/teachers are many of her own instructors and mentors, Wendy Oberg, Lori Pankratz, Michelle Anthony among many other Yoga Room students. Sara continues to be inspired by her teachers, books, and simply practicing her yoga. In 2021, Sara trained at Blooma in Minneapolis and completed her RPYT. Sara enjoys working with pregnant people and watching these strong humans move through this phase of life. Offering prenatal yoga at The Yoga Room in Eau Claire and availability for private prenatal yoga sessions through the studio as well. When Sara is off her mat, she spends her free time coaching swimming, biking, taking walks with her husband and dog, and sharing her love of cooking.
