About
I first stepped onto a yoga mat in 1997 when my best friend invited me to a local Iyengar class.
I continued a casual practice until 2004 when I found my teacher, Karen Palaszek, who remains my teacher to this day. In 2016 I enrolled in the YTT program at PeaceLab Yoga Shala. It was an excellent program that made me stronger, wiser and equipped to teach classical Hatha yoga in Sanskrit. I received my RTY200 certification in April of 2017. Most recently, I became certified to teach SHE RECOVERS Yoga. SHE RECOVERS is an international movement of self-identified women in or seeking recovery from a wide variety of issues, including substance use and eating disorders, behavior health issues, trauma, abuse, codependency, cancer, grief, low self-esteem, perfectionism and other life challenges. SHE RECOVERS Yoga is a trauma-informed yoga practice that was developed to empower women in all stages of recovery. I am a certified member of Yoga Alliance (RYT200) and have logged 500+ hours of studio teaching time. When I’m not on my yoga mat, you can find me digging in my garden, reading an inspiring book, cooking up tasty concoctions in the kitchen, traveling or simply spending quality time with my husband, our two children and a furry mutt named Fozzie Bear. I hope to see you on the mat soon! Peace!
