E-RYT- 500 Satya Greenstone has been a student of Sri Swami Satchidananda and teacher of Integral Yoga for over forty years. She shares the teachings of Integral Yoga in many diverse settings with students of all ages and backgrounds.
She combines a natural, practical, down to earth approach to yoga with a gentle humor. First and foremost she is a yogini, and her teaching is an extension of the experience gained from her yoga practice. She is a primary teacher for the Basic and Intermediate level Integral Yoga Teacher Training Programs at Satchidananda Ashram Yogaville. While serving as Teacher Training Coordinator, she helped develop and teach the Gentle Yoga Teacher Training Program. Satya is certified in Restorative Yoga and has been practicing and teaching Restorative Yoga for 20 years. In 2011, she developed and taught the first Integral Yoga Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course which she continues to offer annually. In 2014 she developed and taught the Adaptive Yoga Teacher Training Certification program. This 10 day course, offered annually, focuses on adapting the Integral Yoga practices to meet any individual need. In all her teacher training programs and workshops, Satya gently adapts the Yoga practices to individual needs and always finds a way to encourage and inspire her students. RCYT: Registered Childrens’ Yoga Teacher: In 1978 Satya Greenstone and her husband, Sadasiva Greenstone were founders of the Yogaville Vidyalayam - Temple of Learning, an elementary school for the children of Satchidananda Ashram Community. Under the direct guidance of their Guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, they developed and implemented a full academic, elementary curriculum based on the principles and teachings of Integral Yoga. For 17 years they taught the children with loving dedication. While teaching at the Vidyalayam, Satya facilitated the publication of the book: Hatha Yoga for Kids by Kids and the DVD Yoga for Children with Sri Swami Satchidananda. In 1996 the Satya and her husband moved to South India to live in the homeland of Sri Swami Satchidananda and to direct the Integral Yoga Institute of Coimbatore. While serving in India, Satya taught yoga on a daily basis in a wide variety of schools to students in grades K-12. One of the schools was Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, an international Ghandian Educational organization based on the teachings of Mahatma Ghandi. Upon returning to Yogaville, USA, Satya became the primary teacher for the Basic Yoga Teacher Training Program. While serving as Teacher Training Coordinator, she developed the teacher training program Teaching Yoga to Children which she and her husband have taught in USA and Europe. In 2013 Satya updated the program to meet the new standards set by Yoga Alliance and to offer teachers a balanced and authentic training in the practices of yoga and meditation for children of all ages.
