About

2014 was the first of many years of transformation for Scott.

In the middle of his journey, he came upon yoga and the Yoga Body Shop as a way to supplement his running and deal with an injury. He was immediately drawn to the physical aspects of the yoga practice, and quickly started challenging himself with harder poses and more classes per week. Within a few months he was a regular member of YBS, attending classes 5 to 7 times a week. Even so, Scott still felt empty. He didn’t realize why until he started really tuning in to the themes and intentions talked about in the classes: balance, looking inward, be a yes, face your fear, and let it be. To Scott, these were no longer just words the teachers used to get students through each practice; they were ringing in his head long after each class ended. They became meaningful in his personal life.   Yoga allowed Scott to take a deep look inside, learning things about himself that he never realized existed. He harnessed this new-found power to be truly at peace and happy with himself, something that hadn’t been true for a very long time. When an opportunity presented itself for Scott to attend the Assist and Align I workshops at YBS, he jumped at it. He immediately followed that up with Assist and Align II and the Baptiste Art of Assisting. The thought of helping others in their practice and their own journeys seemed like the natural progression to pay forward all he had gained from yoga. He said: “It has always been my dream to teach, I just never knew what would lead me to that goal. Yoga has inspired me and I need to share the wonderful gift that I have been given.” Scott has continued his journey to become not only a powerful teacher’s assistant since the beginning of 2015, but also has become a Yoga Alliance 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Body Institute Teacher Training Program which concluded in February 2016. Scott is now a teacher at Yoga body shop, and brings his energy and power to each class he teaches. He truly believes that anything is possible if you are willing to put the work in to accomplish it, and shares that passion both on and off the mat.
