About
My classes are alignment focused and emphasize the strength and hard work required to fully access poses.
I began a dedicated practice and study of yoga in Chicago in 2006, first as a means to recover from a 10 year series of major leg injuries/surgeries but also as a means to reduce stress. I benefit from a strong foundation in alignment-oriented asana and studying with excellent teachers throughout my years of practice. In 2013, I began studying with Stephani Lindsey, Sam Rice and Darren Rhodes, at Yoga Oasis in Tucson, AZ, where I was first introduced to YogaHour. Through Yoga Oasis, I discovered the power of community and how it can influence and grow a practice. I have since completed my yoga teacher training and YogaHour certification at Yoga Oasis with Sam and Darren and continue to return to Yoga Oasis to study and expand my practice. Over the years, I have been immersed in Iyenger, Anusara, and Hatha yoga and have also practiced Ashtanga and Vinyasa. In addition to numerous teachers at Yoga Oasis, I have moved throughout the country and benefitted and been influenced by the teachings of Jen Mullholand, Sara Strother, Noah Powell, Britt Benson Steele, and Dr. Kendall Hassemer. In addition to yoga, I can be found hiking or backpacking in the backcountry or torturing myself riding a gravel bike on a steep fire road.
